COLUMBUS, Ohio — The Ohio State Four-Miler, a Buckeye-themed run / walk that will finish on the 50-yard line of Ohio Stadium on Sunday, November 10, is sold out with 10,000 participants, race organizers announced today.
The inaugural celebration of Ohio State football and fitness — which will start outside of Ohio Stadium and follow a four-mile course through campus before finishing inside Ohio Stadium — is believed to be the largest debut running event in the history of the state of Ohio.
The event will also be the first major running event to finish on the 50-yard line of Ohio Stadium, a unique experience that spurred many of the 10,000 runners and walkers to enter the event.
“The overwhelming response to the first-ever running of the Ohio State Four-Mile is a true testament to the love of both Ohio State sports and health and fitness throughout the State of Ohio,” said Ray DeWeese, General Manager of IMG Sports Marketing. “We look forward to showcasing the Ohio State campus and Ohio Stadium on November 10, and then making this event an annual tradition in Columbus.”
Kroger, Diamond Cellar and 10TV are the Presenting Sponsors of the Ohio State Four-Miler. Their collective support allowed the event to grow from an originally announced field of 5,000 to 10,000 runners and walkers.
The Ohio State Four-Miler will celebrate football and fitness on Sunday, November 10. The run / walk will begin at 10am. Former Ohio State football and basketball players, Brutus Buckeye and Ohio State cheerleaders will participate.
Participants will receive a long-sleeved Ohio State-themed technical race shirt and a must-have “Official Ohio Stadium Finisher's Medal.”
Buckeye Greats scheduled to participate include: Craig Krenzel, Scoonie Penn, Bobby Carpenter, Dimitrious Stanley, Matt Finkes, William White, Justin Zwick, Ryan and Lauren (Shenk) Miller, and JJ Sullinger. Ohio State assistant coach Anthony Schlegel will lead Quick Cals before the race. (Buckeye Greats scheduled to appear are subject to change.)

Among the incentives to enter the race were drawing for four tickets four (4) tickets to the Ohio State-Iowa football game on Oct. 19, along with four (4) Sideline Passes, four (4) VIP tickets to Skull Session, Hospitality and Parking.
A second drawing will award two (2) 2014 Ohio State Football Season Tickets to a lucky participant, while a third drawing will award a trip for two to the official Ohio State Football bowl game, courtesy of the Diamond Cellar.
The Ohio State Four-Miler is produced by the Ohio State University Department of Athletics, The Buckeye Cruise for Cancer, M3S Sports and IMG College, the University's multimedia rights partner.
A portion of the proceeds of the Ohio State Four-Miler will benefit the Urban & Shelley Fund For Cancer Research, a general cancer research support fund dedicated to advancing cancer research at Ohio State's Comprehensive Cancer Center — Arthur G. James Cancer Hospital and Richard J. Solove Research Institute.

A Post-Race Tailgate Party will feature a magician, a balloon twister, an autograph session, music, food and fun. It will follow the Ohio State Four-Miler.
