Rising country music star and Ohio native Zach Paxson, best known for the songs OHIO and Simple Life, will headline the Post-Race Tailgate Concert at the second-annual Ohio State Four-Miler.
OHIO is currently under consideration by the Ohio Legislature to be the state's “Official Country Song.”
Paxson, a native of Lisbon, Ohio in Columbiana County, wrote OHIO in after attending the Ohio State-Texas game in Austin, Tex., in 2006.
“I had never been to an OSU game at that point in my life,” Paxson told Vindy.com this spring. “Ohio State won, and I was just blown away by the amount of Ohio State fans who traveled down with the team. Half the stadium was scarlet and gray, and afterward the streets were flooded with them… I wrote the lyrics to the song on the plane flying back to Ohio.”
Paxson's FREE CONCERT will begin at Noon on Sunday, Sept. 21 in the parking lot adjacent to Cannon Drive on the Southwest Side of Ohio Stadium.
The Post-Race Tailgate Party will also feature FOOD TRUCKS, free INFLATABLES and the Buckeye Cruise For Cancer's DUCK POND, which prizes include a cruise for two on the Buckeye Cruise For Cancer, Ohio State football tickets, a big-screen TV, Buckeyes signed memorabilia and much more.
Duck Pond tickets are $20, all prizes are worth at least $20 and every ticket is a winner.
The Ohio State Four-Miler Post-Race Tailgate Party will be held from 10:30am to 1 pm. Admission is free.
Kroger, 10TV and Roosters are Presenting Sponsors of the Ohio State Four-Miler.
A portion of the proceeds of the Ohio State Four-Miler will benefit the Urban and Shelley Fund For Cancer Research, a general cancer research support fund dedicated to advancing cancer research at Ohio State's Comprehensive Cancer Center — Arthur G. James Cancer Hospital and Richard J. Solove Research Institute.
The Ohio State Four-Miler is produced by the Ohio State Department of Athletics; IMG College, the university's multimedia rights partner; the Buckeye Cruise For Cancer; and M3S Sports.
